Change Needs Change

Sometimes we don't realize we have one foot on the gas and the other on the brake, unable to move forward.


We may desperately want change but until we let go, we waste a lot of energy spinning our tires, digging ourselves into a deeper rut.


If only we had a guarantee the risk would be worth it and we wouldn't lose the illusion of security we already have. Then everyone would be living the life of their dreams.

I had a big change today, something that I was putting off for a long time. PayPal was raising their fees, in a sneaky way gradually over time and I caught it. I tried talking to them, but I can't change them or their company policies, so I switched providers. It was a bit scary and took some time, but I did it! Yahoo....

It takes a certain amount of discomfort for us to take action and move on. I guess everyone has their own pain threshold, but there is also the creeping factor where things slowly get worse over time. We often don't know how much we've become accustomed to a bad situation until we are so deep it seems impossible to change. As Cassandra says, "life is full of potholes and they are not all on Russian highways." Be vigilant!
