Heirlooms

Hopes, fears, assumptions, responses to trauma, self-imposed limitations, patterns of relating, patterns of abuse, addictions, religious and cultural values, even family recipes are heirlooms born of survival.

And like heirlooms we can choose which ones to keep and pass down to the next generation.
